Alfama Terraço 360º | Terraço e vista excepcional!

Didn't live up to expectations Positive: Great location. Nice view. Bedroom off of living room was comfortable. Was nice to have an iron and ironing board, as well as a full kitchen with a washing machine. So items provided such as tea, coffee, and washing capsules was a nice touch. Coffee machine was good. Negative: Unfortunately the a/c broke on the first day, and it couldn't be fixed for the whole duration of the trip (6 days) which meant the attic bedroom was extremely uncomfortable to stay in during August. We had to resort to leaving the window open which meant lots of mosquitos came in and bit us. One of the reason we chose this apartment was for the a/c as my 68 year old mother needs to be cool in the August heat. The staff were helpful, trying to fix it, but there was some lacking communication about how big of a problem this was. At one we were told that they had fixed it but to turn it off we needed to turn all the electricity off at the fuse box. When we arrived back to the apartment, the a/c wasn't really on, just the fan which was extremely loud and just blowing warm air around, we couldn't turn it off when we wanted to sleep as that would have meant turning all the electricity off for all appliances such as the fridge! There was no compensation given for the level of inconvenience this had caused and the upset to my mother as well as making the trip less fun. Another reason we chose this place was the roof terrace, however there was minimal effort for this. 3 folding chairs and that was it, no table, no light to see when climbing up/down into the attic. This made it a bit less desirable or safe to sit out on in the evening. When we arrived there was also a broken step when exiting on to the roof terrace which I reported but it was not looked at whilst we were there meaning it was even more important to have some light to see where we stepped. The drains also smelled in the bathroom, but we understood this was most likely due to being in an old building in the old town and could overlook this but unfortunately due to the combination of these things we felt the apartment was not worth the €1200 we paid for it as it was not a relaxing experience.

Excellent location within Alfama Positive: The location is great, in the heart of Alfama, very quiet (no car can drive through), not affected by the nearby Street party noise.  Yet it's within walking diatance to Tram 28, Metro, bus stations and the main Alfama attractions. The rooms, facility are decent, machines are in good working conditions.  Shower is good. The host responds fast and fix issues quickly. Negative: Because no car can drive by, Uber/Bold drop off is away from the apartment, walking with luggage is a challenge, especially to carry them to the top floor through the narrow, spiral stairs. It's pricy.

Positive: Terraço com vista incrível, parte de baixo confortável. Negative: Quarto de cima bem pequeno, não dá pra ficar de pé.

Modern apartment in historic building Positive: This apartment was very clean and in excellent condition. The kitchen was well supplied. Beds were comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. It was great to relax on the rooftop terrace. Such a nice location in Alfama too - many restaurants and cafes close by. Negative: I wasn't a fan of the textured sheets, especially the pillowcases. Anyone renting this apartment should be aware that it is on the 3rd floor with a tight spiral staircase for the last floor. It was quite an effort to bring up carry-on luggage. I cannot imagine even trying it with a larger size suitcase.

Delightful! Positive: The rooftop was amazing! Its was cute and clean. Everything you need is there.
