Lively 2 Bedroom Apartment in Iconic Alfama!

Nice cozy, fun place. Positive: Great location, close to restaurants, transportation, shops Negative: It’s not exactly that I didn’t like but the ups and downs in Alfama area leaves you breathless.

Massimo guadagno, minimo sforzo Positive: L’appartamento corrisponde alle foto L’Alfama è un bel quartiere, con pochi residenti, gran parte delle case sono ad uso turistico. Hanno chiesto 150€ di caparra anticipata, senza che potessi vedere la casa, senza che nessuno si presentasse di persona per il Check-in, mi hanno inviato il codice per l’apertura della porta. La caparra è stata restituita. La società ha mandato messaggi generati da IA con proposte di Tour, Ristoranti e altre attrazioni turistiche. Il prezzo della casa è troppo caro per quello che offre. Negative: Un ripostiglio di 8 mq, senza finestra, è utilizzato come camera matrimoniale. Dalla cucina si accede direttamente al bagno, da cui arrivano insopportabili odori di fognatura che inondano la cucina e tutto l’alloggio.

Positive: Location is good right in the middle of Alfama with easy walking distance to popular sites Apartment renovation is good and spacious Negative: Very bad sewer smell in the only washroom, its almost nauseating. The window in the washroom will not open so there is no ventilation for shower humidity or the smell. Owner would be well advised to hire a plumber to fix the drain traps and eliminate the sewer gas backing up into the washroom. There is no Air Conditioning and the unit was very hot. The property managers were quick to supply more fans which barely helped. We kept the 2nd floor windows open at night with the fans going - and we were ROBBED at night! Outside workers with rolling scaffolding/ladders must be on the lookout for open tourist windows and they jumped through the open 2nd floor windows while we were sleeping to steal our cash from our wallets on the table! There is no safe in the unit, so keep the windows facing the street CLOSED at night! We wish the property manager had warned of this risk!

Good place but weird smell Positive: The place was good overall and is located in Alfama, which is close to many attractions since it’s in the city center. Just a heads-up: Ubers and taxis will drop you off on a nearby street, and from there you’ll need to walk and take some stairs, as the apartment is on a pedestrian-only street. Negative: there was a persistent unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom that never went away
